I'm going to go ahead and join the skatepark across the street. Its cheap and most importantly close and also open a decent amount of time. The other one I hear closes early if the guy has a date or they "think" it might rain and is closed for half the year. Here it is as it is now:

Anyway, which wheels should I put on my skates? My cockroach wheels, 96a 59-60mm, are perfect for smooth concrete but too hard for the asphalt and bumps of the metal pieces on the bottom of the ramps. I'm probably going to roll and do some hops and some simple lip tricks on the 4 1/2 foot baby halfpipe.

I have some BDS 62mm 95a wheels or the rainskates 59mm 85a, smaller but wider. Opinions?

I'll be careful but I really want to skate!!

I'd reccomend something softer, yet still compact for ramps. Check out Radar Zen Roller Skate wheels 62mm wheels - Black 85A :

Get them here.

I dont like rollerskate wheels and I wont be purchasing any wheels. I am not earning enough money to make a living right now honestly. I dont know a place I can work for credit for rollerskating items.

I guess that means my softer 85a rainskates would be best? On the skatelite soft rollerskate wheels stick bad in the summer. Really sucks when riding the halfpipe and the wheels feel like glue. Its actually dangerous. The skateboard wheels ride a 100 times better I find from my experience so I wont ever go back.

No problem!! I appreciate your reply. :-D I was thinking these wheels but then wasnt sure if bigger would be better. Now that I remember, I do think I got the smaller wheels so that I wouldnt get locked up on the coping. Hopefully it wont be raining tomorrow.

biffsk8er: Which wheels for the skatepark (20. Apr. 2009 19:06)
I hadn't realized that there were 3 choices before. I thought you had wanted suggestions. But, between these 3, I'd start with the rainskates 59mm 85a and switch as needed to harder wheels, IF you feel it is necessary.

With all of the bumps in that park, you'll most likely appreciate the softer wheels a lot more.

Thanks for the suggestion, just wanting to switch what I have. When I start working full time, maybe I'll be wondering on buying something or I can just drive to another park. I switched my wheels now I have to wait for this rain to stop. I put on my little stoppers so I can do this one camel hump they have but parks are OK to go stoperless and might have to take them off for the humps. How do I do this if I have to and still have on the toe guards? I'm ready to roll! RAIN STOP!!

They make stopper plugs. Maybe that would work? Like these :

Or these colored stop plugs :
