 I received an email from Helge Tsharn several days ago, he informed me of the loss of a dear friend to the world of vertical rollerskating. Arne Lannguth died a few weeks ago and I wanted to post this message in his memory. He will be missed by all his friends and family. Arne is survived by his brother Lars who was also a rollerskater. I met Lars and Arne on my first trip to Munster, Germany in 1987, They were the only two side skating Germans that I met. I was lucky to skate with them both in the following years when I returned to Munster and they were always fun to roll with.

Rest in Peace Arne, you will be remembered with LOVE.

 Arne and Lars were the greatest Duo of vertical roller skaters. They where a big show when they skated in double. They also where very good skaters individually.

Arne will be missed as nice guy and a great skater.

 I hope not to annoy Helge Tscharn. This a picture of Arne took by Helge and published in Spain in 1992. The article was written by the Langguth brothers and appeared just when I started skating ramps. Of course, this was a great influence and motivation then and now. The quality is not good enough but is like a little homage to him.

That's very true. He did some really great shot's which are still among my favorites.

Are you a skater (roller skater) yourself? Or a skate photographer?

At first I thought: This can't be, there was not color fotography in 1911. It is a very interesting coloring. Did you do this?

The color is original from 1911 -- brilliant Russian named Prokudin-Gorskii. See link below which explains

I myself take an interest in this kind of photography because I am a bit of a ramp skater myself. To mem, it is a very intersting and broad subject. I wonder how a photography teacher view this subject?

I want to thank you again for showing me the world of Prokudin-Gorskii. Great stuff! I didn't know that there was any one doing "color slides" (sort of) in this time (I'm also doing only color slides). Was he the only one using this technique?
