: Anyone know of any rollerbladers that have changed to rollerskates???and whats the go with calling them quads???Stuff that....they will allways be rollerskates to me..

I don't know of anyone who has changes from inlines to rollerskates. Only the other way round. But now that inline isn't the big hype anymore it has to happen sooner or later. I really can understand a rollerskater switching to inlines because of the money he can make out of the hype. But that's not the case anymore.

I don't call rollerskates quads, except when talking to confused inliners. ;-)

I believe the term "Quad Skates" came about the same time James L. Plimpton invented them in 1863. They were also called "four-wheeled skates".

I can understand anyone who did it. Pity that the roller skating scene went underground as a consequence.

I like the idea of it being underground...heaps more hardcore.....and everyone that still dose it are all doing it because they love it....no fashion dickheads or I need to be pro...

That's right. I'm also happy that there is no one into it because it is "in". However, there are a few people I would rather still see on roller skates.

 rollerball,

is this a pic of you?...it's way cool, nice shot.
nope, only sellouts, giving up their rollerskates, giving up the sounds of hard wheels and grinding loudly. I admit, when I last entered contests (inline, 1993-96), they wouldn't let me ride my skates, so when it was time for my runs, I would be forced to ride these inlines side-stance. whatever...my roots lie in skateboarding, forever. I don't ever regret not crossing over. I only heard them called quads after inlines showed up. Right on, they'll always be Rollerskates. Young kids might not ever have seen them, but their parents love them.
