Xsjados would be ideal... I did forsee having to build up a platform to mount plates/trucks to snowbindings. I will look for cheap Xsjado parts, who knows.
Now, really... why can't we fit these up?

 I was inspired back in '04 when I saw the V-Skate. It brought me back to my roots..... Steel clamp-on rollerskates.
Years ago, I tried the "Mojo" (I think that was the name), a strap-on inline skate. You wear your own shoes and it worked pretty well. It never took off, though I thought it'd be great for commuting in the city.
So, I have this pair of rollerblades (boot in pic) with detachable frames. Works like a ski boot binding, latches at heel and toe. But I want rollerskates!
Got these Burton Jr. bindings new for $20 and will try attaching bottoms and see where it goes...?

 Cool!!!! The center part of the attach could fit between 2 skate trucks, might suit between main plate and slider, this gives me an idea....

And dont show me these things Irene. I might want to build another pair of skates. Like I need another pair lol, but I miss building them. Its fun. And yes its raining again, grrr.

There is a skate like that even now used by aggressive skaters. They are called "Xsjados".

You get a 'wrap'(shoe), and the basic frame with buckling straps. Something like that would work with quads as well.

I'd use light weight plastic quad skate plates. Seems like it might be best to rivet them onto your plastic clamp ons.

And I wonder if you need the tall boot support necessary for inlines?
Also, I'm searching for cheap plastic plates and the downside is these bindings don't have a heel area to attach bolts to.

You can use other shoes of a similar shape. Tennis shoes, Vans, etc...

The problem with lowering the ankle support is that you would have to cut through plastic and padding. I could be done though, and if you are used to low profile boots like speed skate boots, then you would have no problem skating in them.

The main reason inlines have such high ankle support is because the wheels are underneath the middle of your feet. This causes the foot to continually want to go sideways, right or left, thus putting terrible strain on your ankle. With quads, your support base is wide, therefor your feet do not need as high a support.

Your bigger problem with quads is truck placement. Too far forward (in the rear) and you'll fall over backwards when standing straight up. Too far back (in the front) and you'll tend to fall forward while skating.
