Funny that you said that, now that everyone convinced me to go for the custom build.
I already have a big part of the parts needed and it would be too expensive for me to buy normal rollerskates and then going on building my customs.
That said, I think you're right it's a good idea to get a feel for it first in another pair. It would make it easier to figure out what I want my customs to be.
In the meanwhile, I went to the pool yesterday and my lovely girlfriend filmed me. Gonna put up the films on youtube tonight or tomorrow. They should tell that once I'm used to the quads, carving won't be a problem.
So, did you get sponsored after the switch in 92?
