an idea?
What about titanium? Its pricey though. For bikes, its ultra lightweight, the top for race bikes and gives a smoother ride then aluminum with more narrow, stronger, lighter tubes. I worked in a bike shop lol. I have no idea how it fits in with plates though.

: Has anyone used flat sheets of magnesium to make plates?
: Is this material too soft to be thin?
: It's supposed to be lightweight.
