| I roller and ice skated at age 9. I skated my first skatepark around 1979, but didn't really get going til bout 1981. I started skateboarding there, but realized I was a much better rollerskater. I was just 20 then. In 1983, my son was born. My entire skate life has been weekends only, except for holidays and vacations. Hopefully it will not be too hard to convince people to learn vert rollerskating with you. Maybe skateboard or inlines are more comfortable for them. Just tell them how much fun they will be missing!
: WOW Irene!!! You rock girl!
: Thanks for your friendly feedback, you and Claudine really inspires me. It´s great that I can talk to you because my girlfriends here in Sweden thinks I´m crazy. For them i´ts like inlines on the beach in the summertime. But maybe I have talked atleast one over to start with rollerskating vertical....How old were you when you started skating vertical?
: Hej då, Majja :-D

: : Hi, Majja,
: : Welcome to the forum. Alway happy to have another rollerskater join this growing family. Again, kudos to Bernhard, for creating this wonderful site for all of us to meet. I recently acquired Daniel from Vancouver. Until his relocation to the states, I was the only vert rollerskater in NYC. Though my skateboarder buddies are great, it's nice to have another rollerskater to hang with. I got my first rollerskates as a child and still remember how much fun it was then. But I could never have imagined how much fun it is now. Here's a pic from last Saturday. I can't recall any rollers from Scandinavia, though surely there must be some. It thrills me to know that this type of skating will continue with new skaters like you and Claudine joining up. Everyone on this forum is great, friendly and full of info and innovation. Good luck and welcome aboard mate.
