I was skateboarding outdoors Sunday for a few hours, due to the 60 degree spring-like weather. I hadn't skated in 2 weeks (rolled my ankle, walking, no less...duh) and my calves and the arches of my feet are sore. The ankle feels good enough to rollerskate this weekend, hopefully. I miss the vert ramp. It's amazing how quickly the body adjusts to being a couch potato. If you're not injured, get out there and roll! Yippee, spring is here (Thursday, officially)

I can relate to the aches and pains. Even though I do a lot of walking and stationary bike over the winter, my shins get sore as all get out the first few skates.

BTW, remember the discussion about toe protection a while back. I came across these skates on rollerskates.com .
Riedell 166 quad roller hockey skates. Hard toes and well padded ankles. A little hard on the wallet though at around $400 US.
