Saturday was the day of the vert ramp for the roller skaters. The big question was: Before or after lunch? The crowd of roller skaters was hot, so we didn't delay it any further. Alas, Denny Chaput couldn't participate with his unique V-Skates since he slammed hard on his shoulder. Desi Jones had come over for the event from Catalina Island and probably skated the best in his live (in his own words) because of the energy. He did some airs, even a Zen Air, inverts and plate stalls and Rock 'n' Rolls.

Irene Ching didn't let her injured chin keep herself from riding the vert monster. She ripped it with backside airs, Alley Oop, inverts, frontside plate stalls, frontside boneless airs and Alley Oop grinds. Duke Rennie rotinely performed a big backside air to big frontside air, invert, plate stall, El Guerrial (360 invert), layback airs, 540-inverts, frontside rock 'n' rolls and plate stalls on the extension. Gaston Smith has never before dropped into a vert ramp this big before but nevertheless pulled off an invert in this contest. He also did frontside and backside airials inside the ramp. Tim Altic skated careful because of a hurt back from a really hard mini ramp session. He valued the reunion with friends and skaters which was an excellent experience to him. Nevertheless he showed us some airials and his famous invert!

Jay Tubb put up a big show on this ramp. He obviously enjoyed to skate it very much! His first run consisted of f/s air, b/s air, body jar, slob fast plant, plate stall, tuckknee invert, f/s boned air, b/s smith grind, 50-50 to plate stall, b/s rock and roll, b/s nose grind, b/s air. In his second run he showed us: b/s air f/s boneless, b/s air, b/s method, f/s air, b/s air to smith, b/s tucknee invert, f/s air to smith, rock to fakie, fakie 360 to b/s rock 'n' roll, slob fast plant, b/s boneless. His third run was less fortunate: f/s smith, b/s plate slide, body jar, slob fast plant, b/s air, slam. He regained his power for his forth run where he still managed to do: f/s air, b/s air, b/s boneles, f/s lean air, b/s tailgrab, b/s boneless, f/s rock 'n' roll, b/s smith grind, b/side invert, f/s 540 handplant to slam. What a power plant!
