The event started at Camp Woodward on Oktober 14, 2004 at 5 pm. There were no runs for the contest on this day, just walking around and getting aquainted with the facitities and the other participants. Camp Woodward offered quite some facitities! Outdoors there was a big concrete bowl, an even bigger bowl landscape named The Enterprise and the big outdoor ramp. There also was an indoor place called The Hangar which offered everything a skater's heart could desire: A big ramp with foam pits on one side and a damped ramp on the other side. A wooden bowl with wall ride and spine to a smaller bowl. A mini ramp. Street obstacles and foam pits. Everything well contructed and covered with Skate Lite surfaces. After the evening meal we were allowed to skate in The Hangar. Of course, Lee had to try out the foam pits!

This evening some of the participants went to a "near by" bar (which in this part of the world means you need a car to get there), but I haven't been there on this evening and therefore can't report. The roller skaters occupied one of the lodges which had enough room for the bunch of us. There bunk beds reminded me of a youth hostel and it probably was a good thing to bring your own sleeping bag. Albeit the temperature was quite comfortable during the day, it got quite chilly during the night. Nevertheless, heating the lodge the whole night long made the air way too dry (and too warm) so I turned off the heating during the second night.
